Growing Olives for EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil)

Growing Olives for EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil

In 1978 Liane’s husband bought a 10-hectare bush block in the Hunter Valley. Twenty years later it was decided that they would grow olives and become producers of olive oil. Liane became involved in the olive industry and is passionate about Australian olive oil. She will talk about the process of getting olives from the bush to the bottle, the benefits and qualities of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and demonstrate how you can select and use a good oil.

Liane Heinke came to live in Wollstonecraft 6 years ago after growing olives in the Hunter Valley for 15 years. Prior to that she taught and developed courses in IT at TAFE NSW. She is Board member of the Waverton Hub.
