Our last meeting for the Rotary year was one of our best, with members and many visitors being treated to an excellent presentation, in the warmth and comfort of Ivan and Lissie’s restaurant, on how to travel around the world in only 20 days.

Our speaker was Liane Heinke and her audience included some of the most experienced world travelers in Sydney. Several have visited over 100 countries: from Afghanistan to Zambia, Antarctica to Greenland, one of us had been there. But being a very experienced traveler herself, Liane knew well both what would interest us, and importantly, how to present it. So the mixture of anecdotes, photos, maps, itineraries and prices was just right. Liane met Jaz on this recent around the world Qantas 747 charter, which took them from Sydney to Hanoi, to Delhi and Agra, to Kilimanjaro, to Marrakesh, to New York, to Havana, to Papeete, and back to Sydney. What a travelers’ delight!

Our next meeting will be our annual Change-Over Dinner, for the first time at the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron. This meeting will mark the start of an exciting era for us, with our new President Allan bringing us a World of Magic, a new funding stream which we trust will carry us forward for many years to serve our community better and better.

We all wish Allan the best for his Presidency!
