Complacency – Crime Prevention Officers Jenni Brown and Rebecca Smith warned us many in our community leave themselves exposed to opportunistic crimes by their complacency in leaving their valuables unattended and their homes unlocked! Do you lock your doors and windows at home?

The common view that personal security is a matter for Mr and Mrs Others was severely shaken when several members present recounted tales of misfortune affecting them personally. The Police have checklists for us to conduct assessments on our own, or alternatively, they will conduct an audit of our home or business to identify risks and means to reduce them. The Police can be contacted in many ways:

·       For emergencies and life-threatening situations, call 000;

·       For non-emergencies, call the Police Assistance Line 131 444;

·       For anonymous information, call Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.

The annual Rotary District 9685 Assembly was conducted last weekend to brief incoming Club Presidents and their teams on what is new in Rotary. Did you know?

·       Rotary in Australia raises approximately A$100M each year to support those in need;

·       Australians bequeath more to the RSPCA than any other single charity;

·       Despite the End Polio campaign, polio virus was detected in Melbourne last December!

This week is our Club Forum. Please come along and tell us what we can do to help our community.
